Government has published its formal submission to the independent 'Anderson Inquiry' into the 2001 outbreak of foot and mouth disease. It outlines what happened during the outbreak, the policies that were followed, what actions have been taken as a result of developments during the outbreak, and sets out plans for the future in the light of lessons learned in advance of the Inquiry's conclusions.
