Argues that rent review hearings could prove shorter, more straightforward and less expensive if the parties agreed on a procedure beforehand. Ilustrates how a recent arbitration adopted such a procedure and details the two day timetable and rules agreed on by both parties. Concludes that the implementation of this procedure is hard work and requires a certain amount of fair play, but should prevent hearings leading to extra delay and cost.
