Tighter mast rules for Northern Ireland

Government announced that planning controls on mobile phone masts in Northern Ireland will be tightened further at the end of May 2002. Under previous legislation, only masts taller than 15 metres needed full planning permission. From the end of next month, all mast applications will need full planning permission, regardless of their size and location. Planning Policy Statement, PPS10 will back up the new legislation.
