The Land Registration Act

Marks, S.

The Land Registration Act - 2002 - New Law Journal 152(7026) 5 April 2002, 492-494(2) .

Examines the effect that the Land Registration Act will have on conveyancing practice. Outlines the four main objectives of the new Act which cover the provision of a system of electronic conveyancing; a higher number of dispositions and interest are to be included on the Register; to ensure that any disposition will have no effect unless registered and lastly, the Act introduces a new system of adverse possession for registered land - that registration and not possession should be the basis of title.
