Quality mark loses out to Health and Safety charter

Discusses the two schemes which raise health and safety awareness, the quality mark pilot scheme and the MCG Group Health and Safety Charter. Only 160 companies have signed up to the scheme so far and plans to extend the scheme to urban areas to increase membership figures have proved difficult. Aims of the MCG charter include a 10% reduction in the number of reportable accidents and incidents per 100 000 workers by 2010.
