Highlights the changes to the JCT insurance clauses made in amendments issued in November 1986 for incorporation in the January 1987 revision to JCT 1980 . Changes include the addition of impact, subsidence, theft and vandalism to risks which must be insured against; the requirement that the employer must have two policies one for damage to existing structures and one for damage to the works and the concept that the employer and contractor will obtain the benefit of joint names policies for all risk insurance of the works for subcontractors.
