RICS has published a planning toolkit which looks at an integrated land use/transport planning approach based on the premise of building densely in the immediate vicinity of existing transport interchanges. Following the principles of Transport Development Areas (TDAs) local authorities would offer developers incentives to build intensively in certain areas and certain ways. RICS has brought together 20 case studies from around the UK which show how to implement TDA practice.
