Environment Agency reports that unnecessary damage to the environment from farming is costing the nation 0.5bn a year. Estimates of annual cost of agriculture to the environment are put at £1.2bn offset by benefits of up to 0.9m. The adoption of certain simple techniques such as better farming practices that prevent natural resource damage to the environment could save £331m per year.
