Building Futures Group in their 2020 vision research project claim that hospitals being built under 30 year long PFI contracts may well become redundant as healthcare building technology shifts the focus of care into local communities. Study suggests that the UK needs to invest now in building stock that will be relevant to healthcare in 20 years time.
