LGA reports on brownfield sites

LGA reports on brownfield sites - 2002 - Local Government Association Press Release 065/02 19 June 2002 Regeneration and Renewal 21 June 2002, 3 & 5(4) .

The LGA inquiry into brownfield sites has warned that a lack of resources is preventing local authorities from successfully redeveloping brownfield sites, although government's target for building homes on brownfield sites has been met. However a lack of resources, funding and regulatory problems will mean that redevelopment will be curbed. The LGA suggests that risk assessments and insurance packages common in the private sector could be used to help meet costs. "Something old, something new" costs £20 (£10 to local authorities) on 020 8867 3287, quote ref EN017. http://www.lga.gov.uk/PressRelease.asp?lsection=0&id=SX9360-A780F1F3
