Rural land register goes live

The first stage of a new programme to link 1.7m IACS registered fields in England to a digital Ordnance Survey map of actual land will go live once the Rural Payments Agency (RPA) has obtained the agreement of the appropriate landowners or occupiers. The RPA is required to carry out the mapping process under EU law and government risks legal action if the project is not finished by 1 January 2005. RPA at http://www.rpa.gov.uk.
