House prices continue to rise with the biggest annual increase since 1989, according to reports from Nationwide, Halifax and Hometrack. Nationwide's monthly review of house prices reveals a 3.3% increase in June 2002, with an annual change of 19.8%. Halifax figures show a 2.3% increase in June with an annual rise of 19.3%.
