Interest in commercial property investment has increased following relatively strong returns from this sector and the ground breaking launch of Scottish Widows' quoted UK Balanced Property Trust in January and more recently with Allsop & Co. new scheme. Other financial institutions such as Legal & General, AXA, Aberdeen and Prudential are said to be looking at the feasibility of launching ISA-structured commercial property funds especially with the poor performance of equitites. Advises that setting up a property ISA is not very easy as Financial Services Authority requirements have to be met and hundreds of small investments have to be administered.
