Orders in the 12 months to May 2002 rose by 1% compared to orders in the previous 12 months and orders in the three months to May 2002 rose by 13% compared to the same period a year earlier. Orders in the three months to May 2002 rose by 9% over the previous period. This was due to large increases in the infrastructure,public non-housing and private industrial sectors.
