Spending by the Department for Transport (DFT) will grow by 12% a year in average annual real growth terms as allocated in the spending review. This will allow progress to made on the objectives of the ten year transport plan. The settlement includes funding for the first three years of the London Underground modernisation scheme and greater purchasing power for the railways.
