Britain's top companies will be obliged to furnish statements showing the impact that their activities have on the environment under new government proposals. The proposals are contained in the Department of Trade and Industry's "Modernising company law" White Paper issued on 16 July. The Paper can be viewed on the DTI website http://www.dti.gov.uk/companiesbill/
