Many businesses including the RICS have been sent lettters by agencies offering to assist them with registering with the Information Commissioner under the Data Protection Act 1998. The letters invite the companies to complete and return a questionnaire for a registration fee of around £100. The real cost is around £35 and there is concern that many businesses are being misled about this.
