Councils slash repairs

Councils slash repairs - 2002 - Housing Today (297) 15 August 2002, 7(2) .

Repair services for hundreds of councils face huge cutbacks to avoid housing accounts becoming insolvent. It is predicted that some councils could lose as much as £40m from their housing revenue accounts and this will affect their chances of meeting the government's decent homes target. This problem is partially caused by the guideline rents the government uses to assume rental income. With details from five different councils.
