The Deputy Prime Minister, John Prescott, has announced the need for 200 000 homes to ease the housing crisis in his speech on how the money promised for housing in the spending review would be spent. Not guaranteed and not neccessarily all affordable, the houses may be built in certain areas considered able to support the new housing. Asks questions on certain aspects: can the designated areas cope, how far will the money go, will developers co-operate, who will manage the homes and which agency will be in charge?
