A public consultation on new controls for the incineration of waste in Scotland is launched to implement the EC Waste Incineration Directive (2000/76/EC). The proposals introduce tough operating conditions and set minimum technical requirements for incinerators and co-incinerators. Consultation deadline is 20 November 2002.
