A public consultation on new controls for the incinceration of waste in Scotland is launched to implement the EC Waste Incineration Directive (2000/76/EC) The proposals introduce tough operating conditions and set minimum technical requirements for incinerators and co-incinerators. The consultation deadline is 20 November 2002.
