Total volume of construction output in the year to the second quarter of 2002 rose by 7% compared with the previous 12 months. Both new work and repair and maintenance work rose overall in the same period. Output in the second quarter 2002 rose by 1% in volume terms and 3% in current prices compared with the first quarter of 2002.
