RICS urges the Conservative party to drop its opposition to a new EU asbestos directive designed to bring about better safety management of asbestos in buildings. RICS is working with partners towards the accreditation of high quality professionals able to inspect properties for asbestos. New asbestos management regulations are due in October 2002.
