The latest Quarterly Briefing of Maintenance Costs from the BMI show falling commercial rents are not being matched by reduced maintenance costs. The BMI All-in Maintenance Cost Index rose by 4.1% between the 2nd quarter of 2001 and the 2nd quarter of 2002 while retail prices only rose by 1.2% in the same period.
