Argues that the recent government announcement that business planning zones are to go ahead to 'speed up development and create jobs in high-unemployment areas' has been greeted with disappointment. It is thought that selective deregulation of planning will lead to more development, which is representative of a narrow business agenda. It is regarded that these new initiatives will make no more impact than their predecessors.
