A House of Commons Public Accounts Committee report throws doubt on the credibility of the landfill tax credit system and its lack of any system to evaluate the success of individual projects. The Treasury will decide the level of tax from 2005 and the need for a tax on waste incineration after a review by the Strategy Unit on national waste strategy as well as announcing spending decisions on municipal waste management and the future of the landfill tax credit scheme.
