Data revealed in the Soil Association's "Organic food and farming report 2002" show that the area of fully organic land in the UK has almost doubled to 458 600 hectares in the last year. There are now nearly 4 000 UK licensed organic farms. The value of the market for organic food and drink is estimated at £920 million.
