A report by the Barlett School of Planning fears that transport improvements particularly in rail could spark a London exodus by a new generation of 'super commuters'. This may lead to less well off families moving out of London increasing pressure on greenfield sites near to commuter stations. If families desert London's centre the government target to build 60% of new homes on brownfield land may become impossible.
