Government has published response to Transport, Local Government and Regional Affairs Committee report on draft Local Government Bill, together with analysis of responses received on consultation. Analysis reveals support for main provisions among local authorities and other key stakeholders. Bill gives councils freedom to borrow to pay for major projects.
