Sales recorded by the British Retail Consortium-KPMG Sales Monitor for October show a strong retail performance. Retail sales grew by 4% on a like-to-like basis and by 7.1% on a total basis, compared with a year earlier. The three month trend rates of growth remained at 4.0% in October for like-to-like sales and increased to 6.9% for total sales.
