Data is the bricks and mortar of valuation - 2002 - Estates Gazette (0246) 16 November 2002, 181(1) .

Examines property data and its accuracy and use. Notes that there is increasing use of data standards such as PISCES but argues that these systems are only useful if the data imputed into them is accurate. A recent survey by Ernst and Young has shown that over 40% of users do not trust the data in their own systems. Describes the processes of data cleansing and transfer which can be an expensive and time consuming process.
