"Tenancy money: probity and protection" consultation paper has been published to investigate whether resolution of disputes between private landlords and tenants over tenency deposits should become subject of statutory regulation. Considers how letting agents treat clients' money, measures to improve deposit management, mandatory deposit protection schemes in other countries, and outcome of a pilot tenancy deposit scheme managed by Independent Housing Ombudsman.
