Regeneration aid needed in poorest communities

Regeneration minister has urged European Union to reform state rules to aid most deprived communities. This is in response to publication of "The governments'response to the Transport, Local Government and the Regions Select Committee report - The need for a new European regeneration framework" which highlights failure to secure agreement to a framework, and criticises Partnership Investment Programme replacement schemes which are subject to range of financial and other restrictions making them of limited value.
