Criticises John Prescott's attitude towards housebuilders as displayed by his views at the urban summit. The Deputy Prime Minister had suggested that housebuilders are building too few houses and at too low a density. Argues that the governments own policies are having an effect on this by placing restrictions on builders' existing greenfield stocks through PPG3. Further suggests that Mr Prescott's approach does not take into account the realities of the market as dictating construction methods is only commercially viable for a short period of time.
