The Scottish Minister for Finance and Public Services has confirmed that the business rates poundage in Scotland for 2003-04 will stay at 47.8p. The minister also confirmed the introduction of the Small Business Rate Relief Scheme on 1 April 2003, which will give small businesses reductions of up to 50% in their rates bills. www.scotland.gov.uk/pages/news/2002/12/SEfd133.aspx
