Scottish import of animal products regulations

New Scotish controls are in force to restrict the import of animal products from outside the EU. The regulations came into effect on 1 January 2003 and aim to prevent the import of animal diseases such as foot and mouth. The regulations implement a European Council Directive and update the Products of Animals Origin (Import and Export) (Scotland) Regulations 2002.
