FENSA: turning up the heat on energy conservation

FENSA: turning up the heat on energy conservation - 2002 - Faculty of Building Journal 5, 4(1) .

Replacement glazing has now come into the scope of the building regulations for England and Wales from April 2002. As a result all windows must now meet new thermal performance standards. Glazing now comes under Parts L and N of the building regulations, governing thermal performance and resistance to breakage respectively. Compliance can be proven by obtaining a local authority certificate or by a certificate issued by a FENSA scheme registered installer.
