Halifax clarifies terms

The Halifax has sent a letter to its conveyancers which stipulates that solicitors `check that the assumptions made by the valuer are correct`. It continues by saying that if these assumptions are incorrect, the solicitor should inform the building society as soon as possible so that it can `check with the valuer whether he needs to revise his valuation`.
