Going to ground

Fuller, K.

Going to ground - 2003 - Surveyor 190(5712) 16 January 2003, 12-14(3) .

Explains the problem of how groundwater can cause the same effects as seasonal flooding in areas which are not close to rivers and streams. Concentrates on the problems mainly faced in Hampshire and highlights some of the solutions used to mitigate them, including the introduction of a 'flood defence plan' for the area. Concludes that as groundwater flooding is certain to happen, partnership working between all the interested parties has addressed a number of immediate concerns, improved liaison and preparedness, and introduced measures to lessen its impact.
