Highlights the RICS Foundation report "Red man, green man" which found that built environment practioners have not embraced the concept of urban sustainability indicators, and discusses in detail a follow up report "Painting the town green". The latter report compares indicator projects in the US, with case studies on the Sustainable Seattle project and the Austin Sustainability Indicators Programme, and concludes with recommendations to help built environment professionals develop indicator programmes.
