The Construction Industry Confederation (CIC), together with other professional bodies, has produced a free leaflet which clearly defines the various types of inspection and survey of existing buildings and those in the course of construction with a view to avoid different interpretations between professional bodies and their clients. The definitions may not necessarily apply outside England and Wales.
