John Prescott launches a £22m campaign to drive forward thriving and sustainable communities. In the next three years £5bn will be included for more affordable housing including £1bn for homes for key workers, £500m for deserted and rundown housing areas in the north and Midlands and £201m for improving the local environment. In addition, the Housing Corporation will lead a task force to review home ownership programmes.
