Interest rates reduced

Interest rates reduced - 2003 - Bank of England Press Notice 6 February 2003, (1) .

Bank of England monetary committee today reduced interest by 0.25% to 3.75%. The prospects for demand both globally and domestically are weaker than anticipated and in order to keep inflation on target over the medium term the committee decided it was necessary to reduce the rates.
