Big drop in UK shop unit demand

Demand for shop units in the UK dropped dramatically in 2002, according to research from the Property Information Project (PIP). In the three months to December, demand for retail floorspace fell 5.8%, on top of a 10.4% drop in the previous quarter. The total reduction of space in demand was 27.5% during last year.
