DTI has unveiled the Energy White Paper "Our energy future - creating a low carbon economy" which puts the cutting of greenhouse gases at the heart of the new energy policy. The four main goals of the policy are the cutting of carbon dioxide emissions by 60% by 2050, the maintainance of the reliability of energy supplies, the promotion of competitive energy markets in the UK and the ensuring that every home is adequately and affordably heated.
