UK Building Regulations could be adopted by New York structural engineers following on from recommendations made in a new report for the New York City Department of Buildings into the World Trade Center collapse. The report highlights the need for greater robustness and resistance to progressive collapse which are already part of UK design codes but lacking in current US design philosophy.
