Recently published BRE Digest 474 "HOBO protocol - handover of office building operations" provides an improved protocol for preparing and handing over with its documentation a new office building or an existing building to new owners and operators. Handover is seen as a process of many activities that starts at the tendering stage and continues through to a period after practical completion. The new protocol was developed through a two year Partners in Innovation Programme project, using case studies representing a wide range of building types, clients and suppliers and trialed by partner organisations on live projects.
