The Scottish Executive has published draft planning policy 7 outlining measures to reduce flood risk in Scotland. Measures include defining any development with a 0.5% or greater probability of being flooded as high-risk for planning purposes. A planning advice note will also be issued, providing further information and best practice advice including the role of planning and building standards in safeguarding buildings against flooding.
