Reviews the Society of Construction Law's "Delay and disruption protocol" which supplies guidance on the subject and provides a scheme for the management of change which is fair, balanced, clear and comprehensive. Argues the protocol goes some way to providing this, but also illustrates that it fails to give practical solutions to some major problems, such as disputes during the course of the works due to extensions of time. Concludes that the protocol is a sound basis for better understanding between employers and contributors.
