Provides a brief overview of a seminar on the implementation of the Convention on the Means of Prohibiting and Preventing the Illicit Import, Export and Transfer of Ownership of Cultural Property 1970 held in London in November 2002. Outlines the terms of the Convention, discusses the reasoning behind the Ministerial Advisory Panel on Illicit Trade's recommendation that the UK government sign up to it, looks at its implementation into UK law and considers the UK's commitment to combating the illicit trade in cultural objects.
